# Connecting Your Instagram Account

Before you can launch a campaign, you'll connect the Instagram account you want to send from. SocialMedia DMs connects through the **SocialMedia DMs Chrome extension**, which links your Instagram to your dashboard.

## How to connect

1. **Install the SocialMedia DMs Chrome extension** from the Chrome Web Store.
2. **Log in to your SocialMedia DMs dashboard** in the same browser.
3. **Make sure you're signed in to the Instagram account** you want to use for outreach, in that same browser.
4. **Follow the prompts to link your Instagram account** to your dashboard.

Once linked, your account is ready to run campaigns.

## Good to know

Your campaigns send through the extension in your browser, so the browser needs to be open while a campaign is actively sending. Sending runs from the Instagram account you're signed in to.
