# Affiliate Program

The SocialMedia DMs affiliate program pays you recurring, lifetime commission for referring customers — plus an override on sales made by affiliates you introduce. This page explains how you earn, how you get paid, and the rules that keep everything clean.

The program launches with a **Founding Affiliates** cohort, limited to 25 seats. Inside the cohort you lock in the bonus tier described below; once the seats are filled, founding enrollment closes.

## How you earn

There are two ways to earn, and they stack.

**Direct referrals (Tier 1).** You earn **20% recurring** on every Pro and Scale customer you refer — for the lifetime of that customer, paid monthly. After your **first 10 commissionable charges**, every charge from the 11th onward pays **50%** — lifetime, with no time limit and no resets.

**Affiliate override (Tier 2).** Introduce another affiliate to the program and you earn a **5% override** on every sale they close — lifetime, across all products. This is a fit for anyone in your network who can connect us with operators who'd be a good fit but won't promote directly themselves.

You can do both at once: promote the product yourself *and* introduce other affiliates. The two earnings streams are independent and pay out together.

## What's commissionable

Commission is earned on **Pro**, **Scale**, and **Enterprise** (sales-assisted) subscriptions. For current plan pricing, see [the pricing page](https://socialmediadms.com/pricing).

The following are **excluded** from commission: Lead Credit Packs, the Conversation AI add-on, and the Active Listening add-on. Any future add-ons are excluded by default unless we explicitly designate them commissionable.

## How attribution works

Attribution is **last-click with a 90-day cookie**, across all products. The most recent affiliate link clicked before signup gets credit.

A few specifics worth knowing:

- Commission posts when the customer's **first invoice is successfully charged** — not at trial signup.
- **Self-referrals are blocked.** You can't sign up for the product using your own affiliate link.

## Payouts

Payouts run **monthly on the 15th**, covering commissions earned in the prior month. The **minimum payout is $100**; balances below that threshold roll forward to the next month.

Payments are processed through **Tipalti**, which supports direct deposit, PayPal, and debit card for US affiliates, and international ACH, PayPal, and debit card for international affiliates. Your tax form (W-9 or W-8BEN) is collected automatically during Tipalti onboarding.

## Clawback policy

If a referred customer cancels within **60 days** of their first paid invoice, that commission is reversed and deducted from your next payout. After day 60, the commission is locked — it stays yours even if the customer later churns. The 60-day window keeps both sides focused on good customer fit.

## Applying and getting approved

Applying takes about two minutes — you tell us who your audience is and how you plan to promote. Most applications are **auto-approved within minutes** if they pass the quality filter (a real email, a real company URL, and a real promotion plan). Applications that need manual review are processed within **48 hours** by Gevie, our affiliate program manager.

Once you're approved, you get your portal: your tracking link, six ICP-specific landing pages, swipe copy, FTC disclosure templates, and a brand kit — everything you need to start promoting the same day.

## Promotion rules

Two rules matter most:

**Disclose your affiliate relationship.** Disclosing that you're an affiliate is required by US law (FTC guidelines) and is good practice everywhere. Your portal includes ready-made disclosure templates for every channel — Instagram, email, podcast, blog, and video.

**No brand bidding.** Bidding on "SocialMedia DMs," "SocialMediaDMs," "Social Media DMs," our trademarks, or close variants and common misspellings in paid search is prohibited and results in removal from the program. Everything else is fair game — organic content, social posts, email, podcasts, and paid ads on non-brand keywords.

## Eligibility

At launch, the program supports affiliates in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, EU member states, and the Philippines, and we're expanding as our payout infrastructure matures.

You can be both an affiliate and a customer — many of our best affiliates use the product themselves. You just can't sign up using your own affiliate link, since self-referrals are blocked; buy through the standard signup flow instead.
